Privacy Policy

Zmanim computes the times of the day and of Shabbat for your location, and contains a siddur, the Book of Psalms, a compass to the Kotel and widgets. It has no accounts, no sign-in and no advertising. This policy explains the small amount of data the app handles and why.

Your location

If you allow it, the app uses your location to compute zmanim. The computation happens entirely on your device; your coordinates are never sent to us or to any analytics service. To show the name of your town, the app asks Apple's geocoding service, which receives the coordinates under Apple's privacy policy. The place is stored on your device and shared only with the app's own widgets, on the same device.

What stays on your device

Your place, language, nusach, background, reminder settings and anything you read are stored only on your device. We never receive them.

Usage analytics

We use Amplitude to understand how the app is used and improve it. Amplitude receives:

• In-app actions: onboarding steps, the interface language, which tabs you open, which prayer or psalm you open, which backgrounds you tap, whether reminders are on and how many, and which kinds of widgets are installed.
• Premium activity: when the Premium screen is shown or closed, which plan you tap, and whether a purchase, trial, cancellation or restore happened, with the product name. Whether Premium is active.
• That the system rating prompt was shown (not your rating — Apple does not share it).
• Device information sent with every event: a random device identifier, device model, iOS version, app version, language and the country.

We have turned off city, region, IP address and carrier collection. We never set a user ID, never use the advertising identifier (IDFA), never send your location and never send anything you type. This data is not linked to your name, email or Apple ID, and it is not used for advertising or tracking across other companies' apps.

Purchases

Subscriptions and purchases are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to check whether Premium is active on your device. RevenueCat receives your purchase history and an anonymous app user identifier. We never see your payment details.

Reminders

Reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device. No server is involved, and none are sent on Shabbat or festivals.

What we do not do

• We do not sell or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
• We do not track you across other apps or websites.
• We do not collect your name, email address, contacts, location or photos.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Your choices

You can deny location access; the app then shows the times for Jerusalem and says so. You can delete all data stored on your device by deleting the app. To ask us to delete analytics data related to your device, email us at the address below.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
